What was the Johnny Cash song in this episode? it played around 8:30, as Earl and Randy placed the bird's nest on their neighbor's doorstep.

It is "Please Be With Me" written by (Charles) Scott Boyer. The group is "Cowboy", Duane Allman's backup band, and the album you can find it on is "Duane Allman: An Anthology".
Amazon has it for $.99, but the 2 disc album is great and reasonably priced.
